Workshops at Bicon happen on all three days. They cover a variety of topics ranging from the political (e.g. organising as bisexuals, working with the lesbian and gay communities), the social (e.g. meeting other bisexuals, forming polyamorous relationships), the sexual (e.g. safer sex, sex toys) and the creative (e.g. fiction writing).
Most workshops are open to all attendees: a few are specified in advance as men- or women-only. (A statement on the conference's policy about transgendered attendees will be included in our registration pack). Free spaces for ad hoc workshops will also be available over the weekend.
Workshops only happen when someone proposes them: the organisers don't impose any topics. So why not offer to run a workshop this year? If you've done one before, and are fed up of it, you could always encourage someone else to give it a try. Even if this is your first ever Bicon, you can still run a workshop on any topic that interests you (two of the organisers ran a celibacy workshop at their first Bicon!).
If you want to run a workshop, please fill this form in and send it back with your registration form. Running a workshop is a commitment on your part to run your own part of Bicon - so please do notify the organisers asap if your plans change.
Still not sure? There will be a workshop on Friday and Saturday mornings about running workshops and being a facilitator. We'll also send you some brief notes on how to be a successful facilitator along with your registration materials. Go on! If you don't propose a workshop on your favourite topic, be it bisexual poetry, running an advice helpline or bisexuals in the media, what will you have to talk about when you get here? (P.S. It's a really good way to meet people, too.)
Please fill this form out - if you are proposing more than one workshop, please photocopy the form, or write this information on a separate sheet of paper.
